That is what it is like here in Virginia, this state is turning blue. There isn't much of an undercard here, in a dozen years of voting in every election the highest number of things to vote on is 4, which is the opposite of California.
We pretty much don't have ballot initiatives here, like business is handled by the house of delegates. In California you had a bunch of propositions and local elections, there were often 40+ items on a ballot.
In statewide elections no Republican lead is safe as the DC suburbs are the last to report and they are strong left as is the slow reporting capitol city of Richmond, that is where the free loaders live.
