Tiger Woods likely unconscious before accident. Article suggests golfer received favorable treatment from authorities investigating crash.

Whatever he was driving should get a 5 star safety rating.

He was going 80+ MPH and lived through all that was described? Damn...

I think we all had a pretty good idea what really happened the day of the accident. We'll never hear it though.

I’m sure not convinced of anything. The idea that he’s a hidden junkie is certainly possible and probably meets the profile yet he won the Masters 18 months prior. Is he that talented? Is anyone?

I have no idea what Tiger is going through or whether any substances factored in the accident.

All I can add, is that there are some very talented people who struggle with substance abuse, and, that passion and challenging goal-oriented opportunities can actually suit them better, than effortless success, where they feel they know exactly how much wiggle-room they have to slack off.

He had major surgery after that win. A lot can change in 18 months.

I am sure with all the surgery's with his back problems and other things. Pain medication certainly has been a big part of his life. I have been there. The pain meds are a double edge sword which can really help you and hurt you.

Based on this, it seems that Myohmyjustify had a good point, and he was dragged for it...

It appears as though Tiger was self-impaired (pilled out, drunk, whatever) and traveled some 400ft while unconscious before leaving the roadway....AND...he's getting a pass on it by the local authorities because he's Tiger F'n Woods, I guess. Did they even do a tox analysis?

He should be charged accordingly and have his license suspended/revoked.

Maybe he fell asleep...it happens more than you think, even though it sounds pretty hard to do.

Certainly possible. Also possible there was more than just being tired that could cause this. We'll never know.

The fact he wasn't tested for drugs or alcohol is shocking.

I don't know the different laws in some states, but it seems to me this would be a no-brainer and the law.

What did they charge Bill Shoemaker with after his crash?

FYI, everybody gets a pass on everything in LA County thanks to George Gascón.

What we know for a fact is that Tiger was driving way too fast and crashed his car. We don't know that he was impaired in any way but it seems like it would be SOP to do a tox exam in that kind of an accident.

I am all for charging him with any violation of the law that he incurred.

from LA Times:

At the time ofthe accident, tests showed that Shoemaker's blood-alcohol level was 0.13, above the legal limit of 0.8. However, he was not charged with driving under the influence, because of the severity of the injuries and the fact that nobody else was involved in the crash.
