Thank you for posting this. I had no idea that there was a common thread through some of the most significant power ballads of my youth. PbtDBL remains the seminal expression of just what occurred in the backseat of Segers' 60 Chevy.

The first time I saw the video for Paradise BTDL was at a drive in theater during intermission....I remember people screaming out the window of their cars “Play it again!”

After the 2nd movie.....they played it on a loop and people sat watching it for an hour .........

Trivia: The lady singing in the video is different than the lady on the record

I love his lead-in to Wasted Youth that begins with "I remember everything..." and ends with "...you've got a hell of a lot to learn about rock and roll."

Greatest rock intro of all time........

After the original BOH Steinman and clan never "had" to work again. Todd Rundgren the producer at a standard producer rate of 3% became very wealthy and still cashes checks along with Meat and Steinman. Rundgren btw is a nutcase......if you ask me

Bat Out of Hell is one of the best-selling albums of all time, having sold over 50 million copies worldwide. It is certified 14x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). As of June 2019, it has spent 522 weeks in the UK Albums Chart, the second longest chart run by a studio album.
