Joanie's family will love her and mourn her passing for quite a long time. She's left a void that may never be filled.
If we believe. And I do. We feel comfort in the knowledge that we'll be reunited with those we love. Having left her earthly life behind, she's now with family, with friends, and as we know from her presence here, her horses. All have been waiting for her.
What more could we ask? Enjoy your rest, Joanie.

How sad indeed. I only knew her from this forum but she was always kind and gracious in her posts. She will be missed. RIP Joanied.

I found Joanie's spirit on this board exceedingly genuine and caring. I never read anyone post with more affection and pure love for these beautiful animals. Around here, she was truly one of a kind.
All the best to her family and friends.
Hope to hear from you again under better circumstances, WT.

I still have some PM's we shared regarding our Brooklyn days. I used to kid her that an Italian from Brooklyn ending up in Wyoming meant one thing....The Witness Preotection Program! She go such a kick out of that.
Prayers to her family.

I was just looking at old pm's and came across one where I told Joanie I was betting a horse named Joanie's Catch at 30-1 in the Kentucky Oaks in 2010. She got a kick out of that

I would really like to thank the members of this forum for sharing your beautiful insights! Reminiscing with you all really brought a lot of inner joy and peace.
I printed out a few pages to send to her family so they could see that Joanied meant something to this community.
(The only thing that could have been better was if the horses could post, too. )
I just can't thank you all enough.
Re-reading some of her old posts here also reminded me that she had a beautiful life living her "foolish dream" and that was just such a good reminder to press on and do the same.
I really enjoyed my visit, and thank you, Pace.

I just got back from a business trip and I am very saddened to hear this news. May she rest in peace. I will miss her on this forum.

WinterTriangle PM'd me a few days ago because I did the same a few weeks ago.I was wondering where our "girls" were.WE've got some great ones on here,WinterTriangle,Shelby,Grits, and Joanie(I hope I'm not missing anyone).Man I've been missing her enthusiasm for a while.Sad to hear this.Passion for horses, first and foremost, then the intellectuality of the game.Heart and mind. That's what made her such a classy lady.RIP sweetheart.

Always sad to hear of the passing of a fellow horseplayer. But she was so much more than that. She has walked where many of us wish we could have. Rest in Peace, Joanie.
