got claimed in Miami in March for $6250. the new connections waited for the first New Jersey Bred 1x allowance, purse $53,000, and took down the win.

i would say that back in March, the horse was good enough to run that race, the problem is there is no Jersey bred races that time of year. i don't think the horse could have won for $10,000 open, so they ran him in the right spot back then when they got second.

its a pretty tough claim to make because you never know how the horse will be going 4 months later and there is no upside in Calder for that horse.

it probably cost the owner about $15,000 to get him to the race today.

The horse could not win at the same level last summer at Monmouth.... Tom Schell took him for close to the bottom level claiming price his first start at Calder and made a decent horse out of him, but to come back and win like he did today first off the claim and with the layoff was impressive ?
