Jara and Desormeaux to florida

Seems as if Fernando Jara has to buy his way out of the contract he has with Romero (asking price $30K) which is up in February to get him to florida for the Gulfstream meet for McLaughlin 1st call. Desorm also going gulfstream to keep Premium Tap and a few other top hosses for Kimmel et al.

Sounds like there will be even more bad rides this winter at Gulfstream than usual.

I wished Desormeaux would starting on the moon, so that Moron won't be in the irons of good horse

Jara is young and despite his inexperience has won multiple HUGE races this year. He gets a pass, Desormeaux

What has happened to Kent D? He was always somewhat arrogant in tv interviews but I thought he was a quality rider. The last few years have not been good for him. Seems like he started the decline shortly after losing the TC with Real Quiet.

Perhaps he will end up making his way back to the MD circuit, where it all started for him.

I like Desormeaux on a horse that I fear can't quite get up to the wire. Or an underacheiver with some underlying talent.
When everything should go his way, he seems more prone to lapses!

I don't have a real feel for Jara. Ive seen him win some big races this year. He seems like he can seal the deal with a talented favorite, and seems athletic as well fighting in the lane...
Other times he seems very average? His horses SEEM to run to form.

pretty astute comment on kent d., i would tend to agree with you. while i am not a knocker on kent, it seems he saves his worst judgements/rides for big races, the saratoga turf ride for one and the premium tap one at turfway, come to mind.
