Hey Paul
I did some digging regarding the coupled entries at Belmont just focusing on the 1/1A's from April 2017 up to May of 2018.
I found that there were 100 horses altogether which amounted to 50 betting interests of coupled entries for 1/1A which works out to a cost of $50 per $2 win wager
From April 30, 2017 up to May 4th, 2018 betting the coupled entry 1/1A gave a return of $72 you actually made 144% on your money!!!
Let's keep an eye on the coupled entries this year at Belmont and focus on the 1/1A combos!!!

So sorry Paul, 50 betting interests at $2 per wager is $100 not $50 my bad so you’re getting a 22% return on your money and not a 144% return!!!

You're losing 28%, are you not?
$100 wagered, $72 returned...$28 loss

Hey Pace
The total win payout was $122 so $100 wagered gives you a 22% return per $2 win wager
So it was my bad I was thinking the return was $72 but should have only been $22
Sorry for the mix up bro!!!

There are 2 coupled entries entered today at Belmont
1st race
#1 Romani / 1A Abyssinian
7th race
#1 Grand Sky / 1A Summer Bourbon
Let's see how they do today provided they stay coupled entries at race time!!!

Although, #1A Abyssinian got the win it will not qualify for the study!!!
Congratulations to those who saw the play and were able to make a profit!!!

Different-owner/same-trainer entries running uncoupled gives at least the appearance of potential dishonesty and should not be allowed.
Hey, I remember that running of the Beldame at Belmont in which John Nerud had six horses that ran as a single betting interest - and none of them won (the best of them finished second).

Hey Thomas,
You want to talk about dishonesty how about Brown entering 18 horses in 1 day a few years ago at Saratoga I was thoroughly disgusted!!!
http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/s...d.php?t=133128
He only had 2 winners that day but he picked up over 1 Million in purse money!!!
If it's not some type of Allowance Optional Claiming race I don't think he cares!!!

I will continue to keep track of the 1/1A combos at Belmont and also take a look at those whose Morning Lines are less than 3-1!!!
There’s a coupled entry tomorrow in the 1st race
1st race
#1 Old Upstart /
#1A Orpheus
Let’s see if one of these can get the win tomorrow at Belmont!!!

Is there any way to check uncoupled entries? I just find, that the longer half of the uncoupled entry for whatever reason runs better, the cheaper the race.

Might be time for a vacation
50 bets @2 is $100 not 50
I assume the Odds column is the ML?
Win amt? Payoff - $2

Hey Alton,
The Odds column is Morning Line
also $50 per $2 win wager = $100 you are correct so $122 total win amount at $100 cost gets you to 22%
Good catch bro I will correct that!!!

Hey Frost,
Do you mean coupled entries that got scratched and were left as singles in a race?

The coupled entry disappointed yesterday and finished 2nd as the Morning Line Favorites overall had a very tough day!!!
Let's continue to track this situation for the rest of the Belmont season!!!
