Interesting about the movie deal. Hallmark channel, maybe.

Better get that writer's strike over with so they can write a happier ending for the scripted movie than this one

Saw some good points on Twitter (including from a trainer who used to post here) - Rich Strike still remains eligible for NW2X allowance races and could even qualify for starter allowance races depending on the terms (RS was claimed from a MCL $30,000 race in 9/2021).

Strange situation all around. Trainer and owner arguing over NIL rights makes me feel most sorry for the horse himself!

Has anyone tried to have this horse seek his true level? Who has been placing him in these races? They sure seem to have been putting him in spots over his head, but I'll leave it to the more experienced here to set me straight.

All due respect, wasn't this story line already played out with the various Mine That Bird movies?

I have to chuckle that this is Peyton Manning's company falling for it and not TB12's.

BREAKING

Bill Mott will become the new trainer of Rich Strike per Bloodhorse

"I'm pleased to announce that a decision has been made and an agreement reached with Hall of Fame Trainer Bill Mott to take over the training duties of Rich Strike—Bill was my first choice," Dawson wrote in an email to BloodHorse. "Bill and I have had a number of conversations over the last couple weeks and I feel very confident 'Richie' will be in great care and oversight. I can't thank Bill enough for accepting the task of training 'Richie' to his full potential."

Cool. I was looking at his record a few weeks ago, post-derby to be fair the horse did string together a few solid numbers at one point so if he can get back to those and move forward even a little bit he could be dangerous. Helps immensely to have Flightline out of the picture of course.
