Frank George book
Does anyone have a little book on handicapping by the Frank George? He was a cybernetics professor and psychologist from the UK. I used to have his book but lost it over the years. I think the title was Betting Thoroughbreds or Betting to Win or something like that. He did a lot of statistical analysis in it. It had some unique numerical methods to assign values for form, speed, class, and consistency. Also some pace stuff to narrow down the contenders. I hated losing that book and googling it has not turned it up for me. Thanks.

I agree. A simpleton's way of handicapping if that's all there is to it.

Ahh sorry to hear this. I met him a few times in the late 70s early-mid 80s. Two people I knew fairly well trained some horses for him in New York.

Deltalover and jk3521, I owned the book and want it in my library for sentimental reasons. I don't want it for the basic programming that I might have had in soph year of college. I liked his concepts and remember most of what he did, which is not like much of anything around today. Maybe I am a simple guy and somewhat antiquated. However I do like to win, see link for how my methods did yesterday at Parx. Those were pre-race picks posted here. I could only stay for the first four. Have a good one.

Sorry. I was just going by the excerpts that were on Google . I'm sure there must be much more to his system than was in those excerpts.

The Best Bet
I received this book today by Frank George, and it does not disappoint. A great section on using all factors to handicap including pace. It also has a ton of info on probability as it relates to betting races. Will have to read those parts several times to relearn what I've probably forgot or didn't know.
