Earning that peace prize...big time!
The following is taken from an article on MSN.com this morning:
Quote:
In previous bouts of fighting between Israel and its neighbors, the United States has often leaned on the Israelis to stop after incidents that cause high civilian casualties. Washington appears to have less sway with either side this time.

That about sums it up nicely...
US Foreign Policy under this administration? Terminally impotent.

But look at how much better things are in Iraq and Iran. And Afghanistan. And Ukraine and Libya and Syria. And Central America.

Have you ever noticed that those who do not have a pot to piss in nor a window to throw it out of always seem to know how to handle the money of those who do.

Self-inflicted wounds.
The man seems to have lost touch with reality. Our aim in Gaza seems to be to save Hamas at any cost. At a White House dinner celebrating the Muslim feast of Eid-ai-Fitr, he said:
Quote:
In the United States, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.

I think you're the one with the tenuous grip on reality. A Presidential greeting on Ramadan equates to support of Hamas?
Pres. Bush said this on the same occasion:
Quote:
Muslims worldwide have stretched out a hand of mercy and help to those most in need. Charity tables, at which the poor can break their fast, line the streets of cities and towns. And gifts of food, clothing, and money are distributed to ensure that all share in God's abundance. Muslims often invite members of other faiths to their festive meal at night, known as the iftar, demonstrating a spirit of tolerance.
The spirit behind this holiday reminds us that Islam brings hope and comfort to millions of people in my country, and to more than a billion people worldwide. Ramadan is also an occasion to remember that Islam gave birth to a rich civilization of learning that has benefited mankind.
Here in the United States, Muslims have made many contributions in business, science, law, medicine, education, and other fields. Muslim members of our Armed Forces, and of my Administration, are serving their fellow Americans with distinction, upholding our Nation's ideals of liberty and justice in a world at peace.
Laura joins me in sending our best wishes to Muslims across America, and throughout the world, for a joyous holiday. May the blessings you received during this Ramadan be with you in the year ahead.

Sorry, those were 2 different examples. I did not mean the latter to prove the former. His actions regarding Gaza prove his position on Hamas.

And the world is "more tranquil now." 'Obama' killed Bin Laden. The oceans are receding. And Unicorns are alive and well.

Jefferson hated the "Musselmen" back when the fabric of our nation was first being created. He saw that they were faith-based anti-democratic warriors with few redeeming qualities.

a thread that has turned BIGOTED...STERIOTYPED...imagine that...
http://www.islam101.com/history/muslim_us_hist.html
"Edward W. Blyden, noted scholar and social activist, traveled throughout the eastern and southern parts of the United States, proclaiming Islam. In a speech before the Colonization Society of Chicago, Blyden told his audience that the reasons Africans choose Islam over Christianity is that, "the Qur'an protected the Black man from self-depreciation in the presence of Arabs or Europeans."
"1920 The Red Crescent, a Muslim charity modeled after the International Red Cross, is established in Detroit."
"Al Hajj Malik al-Shabazz (Malcolm X) is assassinated in New York . He was one of the most outstanding Muslims in American history as well as a dedicated fighter for justice and equality for African Americans and other oppressed people."
