Why is Jagger coming to NY?

I thought Jagger was a Brit. With free healthcare?

I know he has dodged British taxes for years? Is he still a British citizen?

Better than a random heart doctor assigned to you by a socialist government?

Still a British citizen but hasn't been a resident of the UK (tax exile) since 1972.Resident of France, but he is still allowed to spend up to 90 days in Britain.

He was already stateside when the health issue was found....getting a pre-tour physical necessary for insurance.

I have heard that he either needs a stent, or a heart valve replacement. Heart issues are serious, but a stent would be a much faster recovery. There is some irony here in that Keith and Woody passed their physicals, but Mick is the one with the heart issue.

Oh well, that's how life works. Hard work and a little luck brings some people better things than others. I know I have been lucky that way compared to some others.

It is my understanding that if a citizen has not lived in the UK for a certain amount of time (don't know how long) you don't qualify for free health care.

I've known a handful of British expats who ran into health problems and couldn't go home for treatment.

Mick has now had the procedure and it appears to have been successful.
