Santa Anita field 12-31

Santa Anita should be embarrassed with the field size of the New Years eve card.
Fields of 4, 6, 7, 4, 4, 6, 5, 6 and , the last being a bottom maiden claiming event. Six maidens, two optional claimers and one 32k claiming race with a 4 horse field. Racing at Santa Anita is circling the drain which considering Baffert and the CHTB may not be a bad idea.

It's tough right now with the weather.

No general defense of Santa Anita, which has carded a lot of lousy races over the last few years, but this is a particularly difficult situation.

I bet SoCal exclusively and this is the worst card that Santa Anita has ever had in the month of December.

I do not understand the carding process, vs recent weather.

When I just look at today's card, it was relatively bad before the scratches.

There are not enough horses to support Santa Anita and Golden Gate running races at the same time

One of my old hobbyhorses is we should have gone to one circuit instead of two after HOL closed.
