Horse To Watch (by request)

Our good friend CheckMark mentioned in another thread that it might be a good idea to start a "Horses To Watch List" thread.
Seeing how this is a Horse Racing message board.......seems like a god idea.
I'll start it out with this one.
Saturday 1-8-22/GP/R8 (Gr 3 Tropical Turf):
Call Curt [20-1] - Hard knocking grass runner, ran lights out last time......didn't care for the ride all things considered.
Have a few other reasons to like this one at a number.
Thinking he's 15-1 or so post time.
Here's the replay of his last(ignore the splits....it's GP turf timing).
Not sure of the final time either.
Track announcer Pete kind of points out the pace deal....

Thanks, Taxicab!

Hope this can be a thread where others can share their expertise on what Horses to Watch and help one another cash in on it in the process!

Good luck with your selection on Saturday sir

Potential Lone Speed play @ Houston tonight:

7TH BALKY 30-1

Fits my lone-speed play requirements:
-Only "E" style horse in the race
-Has at least 2-point Quirin advantage over rest of field
-Fastest early pace
-Stretching out today

Yeah this horse looks like crap--they all do at 30-1 ML.

Also, at SA today:

6TH RACE ANNIE'S SONG 6-1

The only reason I mention this horse is PROFITLINE has this horse's betting line at @ a rare even money. Make of that what you will

Greg - Just to mention that Annies Song is in the 9th at Santa Anita, heads up for all those John Denver fans, and was wondering if all the Euros running in that race put a little monkey wrench into things. Don't know if profitline takes those into consideration .

Few horses to watch coming up at Oaklawn

Favorite Outlaw- Will probably graduate next time out or at least hit the board

Fire Coral- Placed 2nd 4 out of the last 5 starts; Should be ready to roll next out

Tiz Showbiz- Closed well to finish from last place to 4th; Diodoro ready with this one next out

yeah, I love betting against these chronic seconditis horses. or using only underneath.

I mean when a horse shows consistently excellent form--second place form--believe it!

True and that is why it is a "Horse To Watch" list not "Next Out Winner" list

Sound like a serious win endorsement, no?

"Ready to run and again-- and burn more money" makes more sense.

Kind of like your “Bet the Rent” spot play today.

No....not anything like the play I posted. I see why you don't post anything in advance.
Anytime you feel froggish, set up a heads up tourney--you choose the track and day and amount. You and me.

I won't hold my breath waiting.........we both know it won't happen.

But not as a guarantee though

Should is just a suggestion vs will is a guarantee

Just like Favorite Outlaw I said will graduate as I expect that horse to win next out but for Fire Coral I think/suggest that the horse should have a good placing next out

Does that make sense?

Yeah, it does Conley. But here's the thing...that horse didn't run 2nd 4 times in a row by accident or bad racing luck--or any other reasons to expect him to win next out. Every other bettor will have an exacta ticket with that horse included...and he will also very likely be well bet to win.

Hard to find any value there with that one.

See what happens but like what you said the value is hard to find with horses like that
