Jose Lezcano

was injured when his mount (Consensus Thinking) was injured and died in Thursday's Race 3 at AQ. Any updates on Jose's condition?

this is great news! i feel like i just hit the lottery.

Jose used to ride my horses in Tampa and i can remember the day the trainer was giving him instructions on a stake horse. Jose kept nodding like he understood him. during the race he did the exact opposite. needless to say he understands better english these days and is a good rider.

Thanks for the info and link. Apparently the nuero scan was clean, as I think I heard Mr. Serling said today that Jose Lezcano is scheduled to return on Friday Dec. 28th. When I saw him get kicked in the head I was afraid for much worse than a broken nose. Tough guys, these jocks.

No such good news for the horse, Consensus Thinking. On Talking Horses that morning, Serling and Mr. Stabile had both remarked about how badly Consensus Thinking had lugged in his previous race on November 10th--a tendency not mentioned in the charts of his previous races. In hindsight, it seems the gelding he received after that race wasn't the treatment he needed.
