Or drawing Russia into the conversation?
Or taunting them today?
Why not just select your targets. Plan your strikes and call the Russians a couple hours prior instructing them to remove personnel? You know like last time?
Tweeting this stuff just makes it a major cluster****. Now Assad asks his ally for support since its been telegraphed and Russia is lumped in with them. Russia now has to defend an ally. They also have to deal with a taunting tweeting administration across the pond while demonstrating their own strength.
Pointless escalation at every turn brought to you by the deal maker.
