S A, come monday 1/18.

Lots of rain expected on the AT @ San Anita.

I suspect, they might shut it down, do to the weather.

from what i hear, they spent about $40 millon and if they get the 6 to 7 inch rain, they are going to rethink the situation, because it will not hold.

let see what happens, but i won't do any capping there for a week.

Glad to see FG,OK,Tufway open...

Monday should be okay, but am assuming that the turf races will come off. The really heavy rains are due later in the week. They actually get a schedule break with tuesday and wednesday dark days. It remains to be seen if thursday or friday gets washed out.

They have run in monsoons and wild rain on Golden Gate's Tapeta synthetic without a problem.

They put the wrong surfaces down in SoCal imo

My guess is it has nothing to do with the surface, and everything to do with what's underneath the surface. They didn't get the drainage system right. They need to call Roto-Rooter.

Makes the most sense. The problem is with the drainage system (probabaly not pitched correctly)and not the surface. But whatever it is they have a problem, which needs to be dealt with.

According to a story in the DRF Santa Anita is will be tearing out the track to fix the drainage after this meet - done deal. What surface they put back in is up in the air but they are considering dirt.
