Opinions

Just wondering what was the opinion of the All-In-One V6
software or would another program better suit the occasional player. I have my own program which I use for Harness which I am totally satisfied with but I have always dabbled in the T-breds using spot plays in which I just play sprints.

Trotman, check out a thread here called HANDIFAST VERSION X. The program is FREE to download and use, can be used with the BRIS single file data, and is quite good. Perfect for the casual player. Did I mention that it's free??

Thanks dartman51 for the info, as I said I just dabble in T-breds so I'm more inclined to manual entry of PP's or pace lines. Because my main interest is in Harness, yes my program downloads PP's. Does this program allow for manual entry or does it require a sub to Bris.

There is no manual entry feature in Handifast. It uses the Bris single data file, and before they closed, the TSN version. As you would need to get the data from somewhere to do manual entry (the DRF or track program) it just doesn't seem like a cost-, and more importantly, time- effective way to use any software. The advantage with Handifast, as Dartman mentioned, is that it's free to try/use. It is not the Holy Grail, but there are users out there that are having success with it.

BTW, you don't need to subscribe to Bris other than registering with them. There is no monthly fee so if you only buy four data files per month that's all you'll be charged for. I am not promoting them as Trackmaster, and I assume Equibase, have a similar "per file" plan as well. Handifast, however, cannot read those data files.

I have been using All-In-One V6 (and earlier versions) for years and it works for me. It is not free and should be investigated as much as possible. But the best way to investigate is to pay for it and find out. If it does not work for you for some reason, then buy another until you find the one that "fits" you.
