Your SS check may be Delayed by a government Shutdown
My line on SS checks being delayed is 50-50. Neither side seems to be wanting to compromise. These things are usually decided at the last minute, but this one seems a little more serious.

There'll be no default. There's too much at stake, including the financial security of the players involved. Each party bluffs the other as the media showcases the entire field. "Please may I get a picture, Mr. Nobody, you seem hysterically angry".

How many times have we gone through this? Seems yearly.
It's all theater. One side will make a concession at the final hour to "save the day". Hell I don't even think it's a matter of playing chicken, I think it's already planned out who will!!

I hope it doesn't happen. I could go without one or two SS checks, but after that.
Retirement communities could become very dangerous places to live!

You will be able to hustle up some money from some old widows at City Fire if you get desperate.

The phony debt ceiling "crisis" will not effect anyone's SS income. They will get it on time and in full.
Same thing about paying our military; they will get their checks too. And on schedule.
We have billions of tax and fee income coming into the gov't coffers every month; there will be no default.
Maddog and others, don't let the political idiots in DC and the partisan jerks in the media scare you or your family.

Nice to see KJP bring that up. How she can compare a forced shutdown of a business to a student loan speaks of how stupid she is.

I'm feeling like a UNICORN. I've never been bailed out, taken out PPP (Regret it now) and paid my college loans and mortgages off. Fuck Loan forgiveness.

I did not get a dime and Covid did hurt my business. Because of my tax filing status I was ineligible for any stimulus money also. I had customers who went under never to return. Had one that manufactured beverage dispensers for restaurants and convenience stores, and another customer who serviced them. All the places around me shut those down. I am sure those self serve ones take a beating.
I bet a lot of that PPP went to companies that either gave their employees busywork or paid them to stay home. There was also a lot of fraud going on.

You think PPP loan fraud was bad? Look into Employee Retention credits which are IN ADDITION to PPP...abuse like crazy right now.
