Too much to ask?

I guess it was too much to ask for Prat to ride his mount the extra 10yds to the finish line. I've seen scenarios similar to this several times in Europe, Australia, Japan and HK. Stewards in those jurisdictions removed the jockey from the remainder of their mounts and suspend them for x number of days on the spot. In America it seems stewards are like nothing to see here move on.

Not the worst example that I've seen, but a lot of riders seem vulnerable to quitting, or an undisciplined emotional reaction once the 'win' placing has been decided.

Riding out for minor awards means a LOT to some owners also.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Prat rode the eventual third place finisher, who just got nailed, as hard as possible the whole way. Anyone that objectively watches that will agree.

Too much crying wolf ends up obfuscating the legitimate complaints.

Yea not really seeing this as an egregious error in judgement.

He was arguably riding his horse harder than the rider on the horse that nailed him!

Today's 9th race at Oaklawn was a bit ugly.

Nailed him has always implied a closer getting up late so you kind of made his point for him, Prat was on the 7 on the outside not the inside horse who held 2nd. IMO it didn't matter here but it definitely could have become an issue if it were less than the head margin.
