Adios Field

Was just checking the latest entry for the Adios at USTA and noticed that Palone did get a mount, not on one of the three Burke entrants; but rather one of two horses that Brett Miller was listed to drive.

Question: Why Dave Palone (who is Burke's number one driver at the Meadows) has to get a catch drive for Tony Alagna to be in the Adios when Burke entered three?

1. Yankee Bounty-Brett Miller-Ron Burke-8-1
2. Dude’s The Man-Corey Callahan-Jessica Okusko-5-2
3. Trading Up-Brett Miller-Tony Alagna-10-1
4. Cooperstown-Matt Kakaley-Ron Burke-6-1
5. Dreams Beachboy-Scott Zeron-Tony Alagna-15-1
6. Lost For Words-David Miller-Brian Brown-5-1
7. My Hero Ron-Yannick Gingras-Ron Burke-3-1
8. Angelo J Fra-Tony Hall-Norm Parker-15-1
9. National Seelster-Tim Tetrick-Chris Ryder-8-1

I am still shaking my head over the fact that Ron Burke did not put Dave Palone on any of his three horses entered as he chose Brett Miller, Matt Kakaley and his number one driver Yannick Gringras.

Palone gets on a horse that has no shot at hitting the board. Am I the only one that is thinking that some team driving is going to be in effect for the race?

Ron Burke's dad, Mickey Sr was the only Burke trainer to win the Adios. With all those wins of Ron and all those hundreds of millions of dollars won by his training, he never won the Adios.

Could this be the year that Ron Burke gets his own Adios trophy?

It would be ironic if My Hero Ron ends up winning it if that horse's name had nothing to do with the trainer's name.

If just handicapping I would have been drawn to "Dudes The Man" and "Lost For Words" both of whom have seen some of the top three-year-old colts/geldings racing today. In a field like this, just seeing them might be enough back class to win it all.

Spoiler alert, in the Hana Constest I will be releasing the (# 7) My Hero Ron. With so many races that day one early release should not hurt me.

Usually I an drawn to the fastest last half shown by winners of the elims but in this case, after viewing the videos a couple times each, I am all over MY HERO RON (# 7).

Ron Burke enters three horses in this races. Yannick always get the best horse. The one winner from last week's elim with the easiest trip was MHR so Matt K gets on Cooperstown. In second place going first over against MHR was Burke's Yankee Bounty (# 1). If anyone thinks that Brett Miller is not leaving on Saturday should listen to me. Once Brett is on top, Yannick will wide heading for the lead. A little tuck and Yannick will be on the engine.

Have to admit that most front runners don't win the Adios so we just may see MHR get a seat behind Cooperstown who just might be first up before the half. In that scenario, Yannick will be shedding cover before the last and try to open up.

Having two other stable horses drawn inside of you gives a driver like Yannick a lot of options.

Ron Burke never won an Adios though as ass't trainer to his dad, they won in 2007 when they had four horses make the final which had 8 entered. May June Character won with the Burke's also having the place, Won The West with Pan Giovanni for third place. Ex paid $88.40, Tri $437.80. That was the last Adios ever held at the old facility. 2008 it moved to Pokie and then back to the Meadows in the new facility.

I know the quality of racing has declined for this event but at least it has some questions to be answered on Adios Day. What trip will My Hero Ron get while using his stablemates?

I'm going with best average 4thQ (last 9 or 10 races)

Code:
Post Horse Ave 4th Quarter
2	Dude'S The Man 26.6
3	Trading Up 27.5
7	My Hero Ron 27.6
6	Lost For Words 27.8
9	National Seelster	27.8
4	Cooperstown 27.9
8	Angelo J Fra 27.9
5	Dreams Beachboy 28.2
1	Yankee Bounty 29.0

$2 Exacta / Trifecta / Superfecta

2 / 3,7 / 3,7,6 / 3,7,6,9

4+8+16 = $28

I knew I was in trouble on the post parade. Brett Miller was wearing the helmet cam and not Yannick. Callahan and D Miller had the other two helmet cams.

The Meadows via the helmet cams knew who were the top three in the race and placed it right in front of our noses.

They all three complete the trifecta.
