Gas prices are generally down in the country but up in the Midwest due to a partial shut down at a big BP refinery in Indiana. It as been down for a couple of weeks, and will be down for several more.

Most I paid recently was $3.89/gallon about 10 days ago in Truckee, CA, right by the Tahoe/Reno area.

Still high in California $3.90 on Friday despite a glut of oil. Ostensibly because of the annual Torrance refinery fire. Friends in the business tell me the game is to oversell to foreign buyers creating an artificial shortage that keeps the high prices at the pump.

LOL, yup. Never have to get out of the car in 95 degree heat or 10 degree cold or pouring rain. Recently, they tried to change the law but it got nowhere fast.

After all the gas stations quit pumping gas, all those "gas attendants", who also did oil changes, grease jobs, tuneups, brake jobs, etc., became the sorry a-- mechanics we have to deal with now, or they had to find some other job to perform. Lots of people who had those jobs, lost them and many had no other work experience or skills. I worked my way through college working in a gas station before joining the Air Force. I actually enjoyed my time meeting all those people, getting free gas, oil changes, using the lift, etc., but doing all that, quickly learned that I wouldn't want to work on cars for a living.
