It’s the same way now. In fact the school in question has always sent notification to the parents when the pictures of the David statue were to be shown and the parents could opt out. Th8s time they weren’t sent.

Whose parents? I want my kids to see Michaelangelo’s David as it was sculpted. I want them to know that Americans held black people in slavery for hundreds of years, not to make them feel guilty, but so that doesn’t happen again. I want them to know, at an age appropriate level, that there are gay people and transgendered people and that everyone into exactly the same; because otherwise, they will end up as intolerant, ignorant buffoons.
