Welcome to the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry. Much tamer than it used to be. On field brawls were the norm, 'Sox fans threw cherry bombs at Mickey Rivers, Yankees fans throwing bottles and cans at 'Sox players and always fights in the stands. Red Sox and Yankee players genuinely hated each other to the point where the Red Sox didn't attend Munsons funeral. Things have calmed down but did see a Yankee fan throw a beer can at Kimbrel coming out of the bullpen the last playoff game at the Stadium.
1976, I witnessed a mob of 'Sox fans attempting to tip a Yankee team bus over by rocking it.
Miss those days.
