I have you on smart to very smart to running the site so I'm assuming that you got this? Do you have google analytics installed? You're using VB Bulletin?
I was checking a few things for you. Along the way I learned that your site is ranked #14 on Google Organic for the phrase "edward waters maxine waters" Google it, You are page 1 or page 2 5th! and that phrase is searched 2500 times a month.
You're averaging 6000 visitors a month from organic search, and if you were to purchase that traffic, it would cost $12,500 . You have a real asset here. Hint* Raise your ad prices!
It could have been a political thread in OT that actually drove REAL visitors doing political searches due to current events.[/U]
Your site is in the top 10 of google searches for 444 terms between 4-10. excluding the word paceadvantage which you are 1-3. Many of those 444 are political keywords.

I can't see the analytics in the source code. I see adsense so I know he could use if it he has it installed.
Looking for
failed capctha rates
failed logins -password resets.
viewing attachments ( requires login )
page views per session ( could be a one crawler scraping every page)
mueller russian probe maybe.

Yes, I was joking and I know it’s true...much of my jests are deeply ironic...there is something about Q that is being censored and shut-down...but I don’t know anything about DOS attacks...I had to look up the term acronym this morning to understand what PA was talking about...
Still, it is interesting surge...maybe PA will tells us more about it...I wonder if it really was genuine interest in an off-topic or if it really was a Denial-of-Service attack...
Good if it is the former; a little worrisome if it is this later...
