I mean, what do you do when your political opponent is a blatant scumbag making shit up to destroy innocent people for political gain?
At that stage you are no longer debating minor things like tax rates, how best to solve poverty, what the health care system should look like etc.. It's basically becoming a civil war without shots fired yet.
In war, you typically try to kill the bad guys.
Are we stooping that low?
I'm almost hoping she's telling the truth just so I don't have to think my fellow countrymen are such horrible scumbags I'm almost at the point of thinking that secession or violence are the only possible solutions.

How long do you think it will take to learn if she is telling the truth or lying for political gain?

If she wants to tell her story now this is included.

If it happened. There are three sides to every story: he said, she said, and the facts.

A nominee for the SS owes a higher level of honor than what we did in high school. When I first heard it were teenagers drinking at a party, I tended to dismiss it.
However the interview and investigation of his accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford should be made public. We need to assess character of both as best as possible.

The FBI has done numerous background checks the Federal Judge Kavanaugh.
He will be a Supreme but the Dems will forever accuse and demean him as a rapist. Case closed.
She was 11.

65 women have already assessed the nominee's character and gave him a sterling review.
I strongly suspect the dimwits are rolling the dice on this one. K's 11th hour accuser will [somehow] never make it to the committee to testify and give Kavanaugh a chance to face her.

Exactly. He'll be the white version of Thomas.

What more can be done to "assess character" of Kavenaugh at this point?
There is apparently no evidence except he said, she said. Her character is now highly questionable given the way she has handled the issue. Why wait 35 years to say anything, especially given previous confirmation hearings for Kavenaugh? Why send an anonymous letter to “a senior Democratic lawmaker,” rather than openly to Trump or to his appointment advisors or to the Senator judiciary committee or to the FBI? Or even to the liberal media? Why did she and the Dems sit on this until the last minute? Me thinks I smell a rat.

The problem for me is that it feels like a political ploy to delay the confirmation until after the mid term elections. That way if the democrats win congress they can stop him. But first you have to delay it.
Whether that's what's going on or not is another matter.
Maybe she's telling the whole truth and just now got up the courage to speak out.
But really, either way, we are getting close to the point where if some of my left leaning friends can't see that the left wing attacks on free speech, the increasing censorship and barring reasonable people from speaking at colleges, media efforts to incite violence with spin and lies, justifications for attacking people with MAGA hats on, and stuff like this if it turns out she lying etc.. are all so ridiculously anti-American and wrong, I can't see how I could ever live and compromise with people I think are evil or dumber than a bag of rocks. I would be 100% behind any secession movement just so I don't have to live with them.

Certainly part of the stink. The handling smells like they didn't give it much credibility, and sat on it until they saw that all else had failed. Feinstein grasping at straws.
