CJ,

RU talking about Belterra R7 today Sat 06-30-2018?

Right now as I type this the entries data and current chart show the dist as 1870 yds (one mile and 1/16th.)

The current chart has no times.

There I was, working on my end of day stuff... trip notes/recap, etc...

Then out of the blue a race dist change (just now) showed up in the xml:

New race dist: One Mile. Old race dist: One Mile and One Sixteenth.

EDIT: Now I see it. The wording at the bottom of the chart. Priceless!

Yep, twice in a short time frame that track has run races at distances 1/2 furlong off. NO big deal, pay outs as is, don't bother timing, nothing. Bush league.

In other news, it wasn't just turf races Woodbine jacked up today. Some of the main track races are wrong too. Race 7 has no note in the chart but they obviously published hand times instead of the ones from the video. I'll check the Queen's Plate tomorrow, no confidence any of the times are right to be honest.

The Replay for the King Edward shows a lot of the problems with these timing systems. They just aren't an accurate representation of where the horses are positioned, beyond what their advertised margin for error is.

Watch the Chicklet for the go plummeting backwards as they near the winning post.

Thanks. I will ask about that but I don't think there's an automated way to do it and don't believe manually inputting them is an option.

Starting June 26 all fractions should be reported in 100ths. We do apologize for this oversight.

I timed race 8 from Gulfstream on Friday from video because it looked suspiciously (1:09.06) compared to the other two races at the distance based on the quality of the horses. The other two are spot on but this one looks about .30 seconds too fast, horses are clearly past the start pole when timing starts.

I keep saying it and probably will until they are gone...Trakus and other systems like it just aren't that accurate. You never hear the companies that use the beam system refer to "margin of error" with timing. It either works or it doesn't.

At the distance, 0.30 is about two lengths, so this isn't a small error. But I'd bet the Trakus people would say it is within the margin of error.

its pretty hard to use timing in factors of handicapping at the track.

I can't figure out if it is getting worse or if the problems have always been there and I'm getting better at finding them. I suspect it is a mix of both.

I already reported this to Equibase yesterday, but so far they've told me I'm wrong.

Amazing, in the replay you can see a little white box just past the starter. Used that as the starting and ending point and timed the race twice, and was right on the 1:41 time they reported.

I'm not sure what you are saying. Are you including run up in the time? The time they report is accurate, it just isn't timed for 1m 70y, only the last mile is timed.
