How long does it take to learn/evaluate a program?

This is a follow up on Speed Figures Poll....

How long does it take you to to learn/evaluate a program?

In my experience , with Hi level & lower tier programs on that list, it
took me about 3 months to get my feet back on the ground with the
learning curve that is involved. In about 6 months , I'm 80% confident with my
bets.....and to understand fully the program ...between 9 months and a year.
If possible , using a third party software ....then add months on top of that.

Comments?

PS- This all came about from posts from an individual that has used some these programs and returned post of buggy , incompatible issues, not good ....all with in a week of using them....

To be clear, you are not referring to HSH here, right?

The poll makes the assumption that it takes at least a month.

It might ...but I say it differs....

I had/have two of the more higher profile programs and it took me well over
one month...something like 2-3 months....
