That is very misleading. Do you have any idea how the system works? Liberals claimed the same thing with Bush and his Iraq war and tax cuts. Here is an article that claims that it is mostly false. Every president can be accused of raiding the trust fund.

it always has been a government sponsored Ponzi scheme - when the government spends a trillion more than it brings in, does it matter where it comes from?

But Al is trying to compete with horsey in the whack job cartoon game, and Al isn't even in the same league of BS there. Strictly Class B minor league stuff.

Sometimes they have to really parse words to come to their conclusions. Its false because the bonds don't come due until 2020. In the meantime, when they do come due, Bush is no longer president and President Hillary Clinton will be blamed for increasing the national debt. Bush wanted to be a war president. He should have paid for it out of taxes.

Reagan balanced the budget on old people and college students.

No,I'm asking you a direct question that is a corollary to Mostie's post. If Reagan's deficit spending was a problem for future presidencies to solve as Mostie claims, is it not doubly true of Obama as well??

Reagan lowered income taxes but RAISED SS taxes to put the system on a sound footing for awhile longer. He did the very opposite of what this claims. That was always one of the criticisms from the conservative right. They were pissed that he didn't CUT SPENDING and instead offset the income tax cut to some degree with tax increases elsewhere.
