The more things change: Weight complaints ed.

From "Attacking Vosburgh" in the November 5, 1903 edition of the Daily Racing Form:
Yesterday when Mr. Bell found that Colonel Bill had again received 126 pounds for the last race he completely lost his temper. He entered the clubhouse dining room, where J. H. Bradford, one of the Jockey Club stewards was sitting, and said:

" 'This injustice, Mr. Bradford, has got to come to an end. It has come to a pretty pass when one man can ruin the chances of my horses.'"

Mr. Bell proceeded with further remarks of a personal nature regarding Mr. Vosburgh and then went out upon the balcony.{emphasis added}

From the Bloodhorse website today:
“The Apple Blossom is still the most likely option, but we’re not going to be stupid about it. We’re not going to be spotting good horses a whole lot of weight,” Jones said. “Last year we felt like we were unfairly dealt with in the Delaware Handicap (carrying 124 pounds). I did not see how a horse who won a grade I in California (Blind Luck, 122 pounds) and a horse that won a grade I in New York (Life At Ten, 117 pounds), how in the world we had to pack more weight than them. It wasn’t right. We’re not going to let that happen again.

Why should Larry Jones and the other connection not voice their displeasure for what happened last year. Noone has been able to tell me yet how Hollendorfer through his whining about Blind Luck's weight needing to be less than Havre de Grace because he "would not race unless they were getting 2 pounds".
Why is it that everyone wants to criticize Larry Jones for stating his opinion, yet nobody says a bad word about Hollendorfer?
Who is the one paying the bills on this horse? Until any of us are paying the bills we should keep just as quiet about the connection's concerns as everyone was last year when Hollendorfer was running off his mouth like he was still on the Northern California fair circuit.
