I'm playing this game for 35 years. That has given me a lot of time to bet on stakes horses that were over the top by late fall.

But if I do choose to comment...and I express my indifference in the matter...should I be told that this indifference of mine "perpetuates the 'stupid horseplayer' stereotype"?

Or that I go out of my way to defend cheaters?

And, because I happen to bet on the game, does that mean that I should "tone it down" when it comes to pointing out the injustices commited against the player?

I bet horses because there is no other legal game out there that can be beaten...without great inconvenience in time and travel.

If there was...believe me, I would be doing something else...
Well I haven't said any of those things to you so you'll have to take it up with whoever has. My comment was about you feeling as though this topic isn't important enough to discuss.

I've said my piece on how I perceive the constant complaining. If it is so bad, I don't understand still partaking in it. If everytime you went to a restaurant you had a complaint about the meal...would you still go there? I wouldn't.

I get all of the talking points. They have been beaten to death in almost every thread.

I never said that this topic wasn't important enough to "discuss".

I said it wasn't enough to get excited about...in the scheme of things...

But, who knows...I might be wrong...

It wouldn't be the first time...

I almost always enjoy reading Beyer, but that wasn't one of his better efforts IMO.

I thought Beyer covered all the bases.

1. He didn't beat much.

2. The connections took advantage of the conditions.

3. It was an accomplishment to get that many wins in a row because it's darn near impossible to get a horse to fire close to his "A" race that many times in a row these days no matter what the competition

4. The lack of any real superstars in the older male division gave the horse an opportunity to get a lot of publicity.

5. Rumors of manipulated scratching.
