Except in terms of the laws and who can collect tax returns it sorta matters...
Nadler can't get them. Neal can.
Nadler has nothing to do with any of this. I've said it for the 3rd time now.

I don't know why a Canadian is arguing this with me. Congress writes the taxes and has latitude in a variety of actions regarding anything that could constitute legislative intent.
This is not a subject of debate and why the WH was so viciously shot down in the Judge's ruling.
As one poster already alluded too this could show Trump who claims to make hundreds of millions a year in income not paying any taxes. The legislative purpose would be wanting to tax individuals such as himself.
This is open and shut. If Congress wants to look at your taxes... you know the thing they are tasked with levying... they can get them.
(f) Disclosure to Committees of Congress
(1) Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Finance, and Joint Committee on Taxation
Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure.

If its not for POLITICAL PROPOSES the committee could look at GE's corporate returns and the CEO's as its been reported many times they have paid ZERO Federal Tax many years in a row. No this is personal to the DEM's and it's all about Trump. So quite lying to yourself that it is otherwise.

Again NOTHING of this kind has been done in past. And if you were the least bit honest with yourself you have to agree.

Duh, I just told you Bill Clinton was witch hunted many times worse by a repuig congress than King
Donald the False. The dems have a ways to go.
Travelgate
Whitewater
Filegate
Absurd Vince Foster accusations.
Lost Rose Law Firm billing records
Renting Lincoln Bedroom
Monica Lewinsky and impeachment
Can't remember more, but there are more.

So what are in the tax returns that the IRS missed that will put King Donald behind bars for life? Or at least get him impeached and removed, which is of course, the end game...any way they can.
Russian Collusion, which everyone thought was a slam dunk, didn't work out so well thus far...so we move to Part B or C or D of the insurance plan...can't remember which part of "ANY DAY NOW INSURANCE PLAN" we're up to...
But seriously...what are the tax returns actually going to show? He lost money? He didn't pay taxes because of corporate loopholes?
OK...so what?
Doesn't the IRS already intensely scrutinize the returns of people like Trump? Aren't they under an insanely higher audit risk than everyday Joe and Jane?
And if there was something illegal on the returns, wouldn't the IRS already have figured that out by now? year after year, auditing his returns?
What's going to be the special sauce this time around that hasn't worked thus far in removing your worst nightmare?

Maybe he is tired of the dems acting like flies at a picnic and is putting his foot down, to not only stop them, but to protect the Executive branch for the attempted usurption of power by the legs.
Have the dems cited ANY possible findings ore are they just fishing?
Is there probable cause to see them?

Protect the Executive Branch?
That's certainly a new one.
They don't need to cite anything. Congress has this power.
Again they don't need probable anything.
Should Congress just begin the Impeachment Process? Yeah they should. At which point all of this moot anyway as they'll get what they are asking for.
I'm assuming that's coming at this point.

I don't have to admit anything.
Congress has the right to see them and that's it.
I'm not the one of the posters here preemptively defending the guy.

WHAT DO YOU THINK is in there that will make him a "Dead Duck" that the IRS has apparently missed in all these years of auditing?

No Congress does not... Neal's Committee can request FOR LEGISLATIVE PURPOSES ONLY. But we all know the true purpose of their request is nothing more to then the Dig around for anything they can find the possibly make the president look bad that's it no legislative purposes at all you know it I know it in the rest of the nation knows it
