I don’t know the exact date, but it’s been between 11/28 & 12/03 the last 5 years.

I guess Riders Up is still on? Since I never bet NY I have been handicapping the Aqu cards just to get in shape.

Aqueduct racetrack in Queens, New York City, launches its five-week Fall Horse Racing season this weekend and for the next five weeks, the main track will play host to a series of Grade 2 and Grade 3 races before the action moves to the winterized inner track for four months beginning Dec. 3.

Hasn't been that way for a while, so if you value your bankroll, I would be careful about such assumptions

Early speed ? Use extreme caution ... last winter there was a new superintendent, the track was "cut" differently and there are new rules about calks and bends, Early speed was a guaranteed way to lose last season. The door to the mint has been slammed shut and locked. We'll all be watching AQU-inner this season, but with limited expectations. Better to wait for Oaklawn, it's still a true early speed track.

On the Inner Track
6F Dec12 2008 thru Mar29 2009 192/389 .494%
Winners no worse than 2nd any call according to charts
6f Nov28 2007 thru Mar30 2008 232/389 .596%
Winners no worse than 2nd any call according to charts
1Mile 2008/09 49/111 .441%
1Mile 2007/08 46/86 .535%
1/70 2008/09 58/130 .446%
1/70 2007/08 79/152 .520%
Though in the 2008-2009 winners wired less,
the percentage for up front winning was
still strong for 1 and 2 turn races.
