Second, Mitch said there would be no vote until the Democrats and President came to an agreement. This is Mitch's first goalpost move and I'm not sure its a smart one for him... it inserts Senate R's back into the eye of public scrutiny.
To me this seems like another attempt by the White House to shift blame again on the shutdown to Democrats. I doubt it will work with the public. He should have started with this back in early December not over a month into a shutdown. Time and polling will tell the tale.

Reopen government and then negotiate is her plan.
I don't know if its any better or worse... I just know that this shutdown fight is hurting Trump and Republicans a lot more than its hurting Democrats.
They are fine with letting it continue. This is a fight that shouldn't have been picked when it was.

It was 30 days until Trump began even trying to negotiate. That isn't a opinion on the matter its a fact. Lindsey Graham suggested this approach almost immediately. Romney did as well. Members of Trumps cabinet including Kushner, Pence, and Mulvaney suggested this route too...
He shot all of them down.
Now that his public opinion continues to slide he decides he wants to do an about face.
Consistent messaging wins these fights. Democrats are unified and their message has been consistent. Their opponent has been anything but.
If he tries what he did on Saturday in the first few days of this showdown its a completely different story... he didn't.

Because they said Day One they aren't going to negotiate and reward hostage taking.
They haven't wavered on that. Its called disciplined messaging.
Meanwhile we have fences, steel slats, walls, humanitarian, coyotes, concrete, partial, border security, fences again, no daca, now daca, let the supreme court decide, oh shit they ruled against me, daca again, state of emergency, my shutdown, proud shutdown, wall again, Schumer shutdown, etc. etc. etc.

As Kushner reaches out to Congress on shutdown, 'DACA for the wall' deal gains steam
There is one example...
I'm sure you'll decry it as fake news since the "Office of Jared Kushner: First Son-in-Law of the United States" didn't put it up on the website but...
Back to how tower 7 fell down.
