Homebred Races

Are there such a thing as homebreds? Meaning the horses entered in the race are owned and bred by the people who race them. Seeing this would be refreshing as opposed to a race field being bought and paid for.

Thanks for the read. I find it funny in the 2004 Triple Crown, a homebred beat a homebred in the Belmont.
