Keeneland Handicapping Database

http://apps.keeneland.com/awstats/Default.asp

This free tool is designed especially for horseplayers searching for detailed information. Updated daily, the database offers detailed information on winners of every Keeneland race during the current race meet including weather, position at key junctures of the race, last start information and much more. To view the complete database since October 2006, click on the Download CSV option at the top of the database.

Does any other track offer a free historical database downloadable to CSV format?

None that I know of, but that is a very good idea by Kee.
Shows a healthy respect for their customers and a good understand of their needs.

One thing is undeniable - this DB is NEVER going to inhibit betting handle.

Duh.

I think it's the brainchild of Jeremy Plonk. He was editor of Horseplayer Magazine when I wrote for them. Very smart guy whom I much respect and like. Also remarkably modest.

Yes, Jeremy.

btw, I just found some old issues of HP and pulled a few to look over. One of them has an article by you, about horses shipping in, it looks like. Going to enjoy it with a beer tonight.

Tx, Tom. I'm honored. That piece was right in my wheelhouse and by far my most original.
Some other articles felt like work. That one was a labor of love. Too long and rambling to qualify as my best, but undoubtedly the most reflective of how I think.
