People replying to the tweet you posted are obviously unaware of this.
Tons of ignorance out there, and you're just fanning the flames with nonsense about "a few years ago" and non-HD monitors...

Maybe you should go on there and moderate twitter.

And why would you need an HD monitor to accurately judge a photo finish?
Short answer is, you don't.

I'm giving you facts and you're running in circles. Think this was posted on this board in 2018.

• Staff presented a report (attached to this news release) on the CHRB review of the photo-finish technology in use at California racetracks. After contacting major racetracks in other states and their vendor, staff determined that the California vendor, Plusmic, uses “state-of-the-art” technology for photo finishes. However, the review determined that the monitors in the stewards' stands at racetracks used by stewards to review photos require updating to high definition (HD). The monitor in the stand at Santa Anita already has been upgraded to HD and similar upgrades at other tracks will become part of the licensing process.

Yeah, but how does having a non-HD monitor prevent the judges from correctly evaluating a photo finish?

Have to think Horse Racing actually got this one correct.
Photo Finishes should be shown to the Public in 144p, with the horse's bodies looking like a pixelated impressionist's Saharan distortion, often 'on', often running toward a 'Finish Line' which holds various interpretations to the public (; the mirror slit, the real finish 'line', a hand drawn line, the hand of God )...

Sat 01-21-2023 Laurel R8 Spectacular Bid Stakes
The winner, #2 PRINCE OF JERICHO was listed in the past performance data with "No Rider" as the jockey.
Carol Cedeno was announced as the rider by Laurel's on air racing analysts well before post time.
That said, how is it that the Equibase Scratches and Changes XML contained no mention of the actual rider before the race went off.
This is something I have brought to Equibase's attention many times in the past.
I really wish Equibase would be proactive about "no rider" and "rider tba" in the data - and figure out a way to report the actual rider name in their scratches and changes xml before the race goes off.

i keyed the horse that ran 4th in the super, i have it for .30. i hope they don't refund the race either.
i have seen lots of other tote delays. i was told years ago that it can be caused by the off shore rebate shops having problems transmitting their money into the pools. so far there has been 2 tote delays at Oaklawn today. both of the winners went down in price after the delay one of them went from 6-1 to 4-1.
the other winner dropped as well, but i didn't have that one.

I have (or hope I still have) the winner in GPX R11 at 6-1.
Now Gulfstream video says ticket cashing delayed until tomorrow.
Yikes.
