Mill Lane, 85, the famous referee who was there for the ear biting Tyson fight, passed away ..Of late, he had been in bad health after suffering a stroke.

Mills Lane was an excellent referee. He let the boxers fight their fight while fairly enforcing the rules and protecting the fighters when necessary. He kept his cool in the ring in some difficult times for a referee. He also served in the Marine Corps and boxed while serving. Mills Lane competed in the Olympic Trials as a welterweight. He also had a few pro fights with a good record. RIP.
