Big Move on the Turn

KEE 8th today - Shug's Top Billing was runner up with three on the wire. Made us wait awhile for the photo before putting up 14-1 Noble Bird out of Casse's barn.

Top Billing might want a little bit more ground but definitely rounded into form with this race.

he looked great. The short stretch didn't give him enough space but he looked the the top billing if hype and fame from last spring. Could make some noise in the older male division this year

Eventhough it was just an allowance race, top 3 finishers all looked good. Casse's horse, the winner at 14-1, has become a digger, not going to let you get by at the wire last 2 races.

AQU 4th 4/11/15

Nice move by Kiaran's Good Pick Nick (6.3-1) as the inside horses got gassed on the turn and he swung wide to pass the pack with Jara up. All three prior starts, beaten favorite but nice win return today

This was the second wager of the year for me and my partners.

We had tabbed both of Shug’s horses, Honor Code and Top Billing as good bets in their next outings if we could get 3-1 odds or better on them. We just missed those odds on Honor Code and he won; and on Top Billing we thought we had a good thing at 4-1 odds; and loaded the bucket with “wooden nickels”, but he lost by a nose.

I don’t think we will get those odds again very soon on either of those horses, but it was well worth taking the shot when we did.
