How can they play this?

Goes to Floyd’s physical condition including mental.

Defense will say it contributed to his death. Maybe even press that Covid combined with drugs in his system are “the cause” of death.

Several expert witnesses just got a pay day.

Btw, what part of the body is attacked by the Covid virus?

Throat, esophagus and respiratory system.........

When the real predominant cause of death is asphyxiation......maybe Covid weakened his system?

I can hear these and more ideas being thrown around.

If you think the riots are bad now, imagine if the defense somehow manages to win its case...

My grandfather was an Long Beach, CA, policeman & my father a deputy sheriff. You are very right about the psychological toll it takes. This has been going on for decades with cops getting burned out and jaded. Just read any Joseph Wambaugh book about LA cops. Wambaugh was a 14 year member of the LAPD.

This is not to excuse Chauvin or any other cop who acts outside the law. One of the worst was the cop in North or South Carolina who shot an unarmed black man who was running away.

But Floyd was only 46 years old...and I've seen it reported on Paceadvantage.com that such an age group has nothing to worry about from the coronavirus.

I am pretty sure he is talking about the defunding of the LA police department.

Seems logical to me.

It was probably the fentanyl and meth as opposed to COVID.

I'm going with that...if you're on that stuff and someone is pressing on your neck for 8 min, you're probably ****ed.

this case will be won or lost during the jury selection process. there is so much coverage of this case that it will be very hard to find impartial jurors. the ones that are impartial will be a lot easier to portray a doubt of guilt than the ones that have already made up their minds.

this is what happened in the OJ Simpson trial and Casey Anthony in Florida. 99 9/10% thought those 2 were dead bang guilty, yet they walked.

due to public rage, these police officers might have been overcharged to start out with as well.

Shouldn't have been killed by the cop
Floyd shouldn't take in drugs either

The mayor of LA said he'd have anyone on dry sand on the beach arrested. Not to be outdone on scaring you on how dangerous this virus is, I give you the mayor of NYC

“Anyone tries to get in the water, they’ll be taken right out of the water,” De Blasio said. -SNIP

In other words.... 'The virus is dangerous, you sheep!' Stay inside. At least that was the message until protests and riots began

I love De Blasio's NY police arresting 600 people, they go to jail, they are released without bail, and repeat again the next night....

Failing those figures, you're just showing emotion. No solution or review of facts.
Without factoring in inner city violence, poverty and generally a worse educational background than whites, not to mention the first sin of the U.S., slavery, and slavery's 200 year legacy, you seem to be implying a racist explanation.

What is going on now is another story that needs telling.

So your premise is it is a revenge thing that got Floyd killed, and that makes it ok?

from the article:

Quote:
As for interracial violence generally, blacks disproportionately commit it. Between 2012 and 2015, there were 631,830 violent interracial victimizations, excluding homicide, between blacks and whites, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

Blacks, who make up 13 percent of the US population, committed 85.5 percent of those victimizations, or 540,360 felonious assaults on whites, while whites, 61 percent of the population, committed 14.4 percent, or 91,470 felonious assaults on blacks.

Regarding threats to blacks from the police: A police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer.
Hard to claim systemic racism in view of the above numbers.
