You are correct, and I posted about it over a month ago-----Pfizer was brought on because of their experience with the FDA, and their distribution network. The vacccine itself was not developed in the USA.

It does appear though, that Ted Cruz hasn't gotten the memo yet. )

I actually didn't realize that Moderna was founded by an immigrant (Lebanon/Canada) and that many of its key leadership positions, including its CEO, are immigrants. Most all of them got their undergraduate and graduate degrees in other countries, then came here and started Ph.D. degrees or companies after that.

And the founder of Pfizer is an immigrant, too. As well as BioNtech.

As far as who's next, it looks like they raised the age from 65 to 75. I suspected that. Another official said it looks like the general population (which probably includes those 65-75) will be April-June timeframe.

Why is the White House staff getting access to it?

Scum bags - hope they get serious side effects and assume room temperature.
WH STAFF IS 100% NON ESSENTIAL

Are they going to require vaccination proof?
Maybe instead of a card they could just tattoo a number on our arm.

No need, Hiding Biden is going to lock down the country for climate change concurrent with this farce. The nutcases in charge in blue states will say Oh Yes. Kiss your healthcare and benefits from employment goodby.

FL Gov wants "elderly" to get vaccine before young front-line workers. He didn't give an age minimum but I'm guessing 70, since no Floridian under that age has gotten it yet. So that leaves me out for now.

As of today, 13,071,925 doses have been distributed and 4,284,534 given(in the U.S.).
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/c...-distribution/
The two vaccines being used now, Moderna and Pfizer, both use a new vaccine approach involving messenger RNA. Their clinical trials reported up to 95% efficacy.
The next one to be approved should be AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine. Their trials reported around 70% efficacy. This vaccine uses a “viral vector,” introducing a harmless virus—in this case a virus that causes the common cold in chimpanzees—modified with the SARS-CoV-2 virus spike protein to stimulate an immune response. The Oxford-AstraZeneca shot requires only standard refrigeration and will remain viable for up to six months. It supposed to be a lot cheaper too. However a series of irregularities and omissions in the way AstraZeneca initially reported their trial data have eroded confidence in the reliability of their results. I’m guessing approval by March 2021.
Two more vaccines, the Novavax and the Johnson&Johnson, are currently in Phase 3 U.S. clinical trials and should be approved (if all goes well) by April 2021.

Many states doing a terrible job getting people vaccinated.
Did anyone tell them they needed a plan on how to do it after TRUMP paved the way for them to get it in world-record time?????

They never believed Trump in the first place; i.e. his claim that we'll have a vaccine by the end of the year. The blame for lack of planning is all on THEM!
