U.S. Posts Largest-Ever Monthly Budget Deficit in February

It's a good thing we have a Republican President.

This is what happens when you have a President with four bankruptcies on his resume. All he knows is piling on debt and f___ the consequences.Whenever that's brought up,all you hear is "Gosh, 400 businesses and only 4 bankruptcies, that's a good batting average" (Permit me a ) or "It was a good business decision, it wasn't that bad, blah, blah, blah ".Not so good for the banks, investors and companies who got stiffed.

We have a booming economy under Trump. We had a similar economy under Clinton and it resulted in a surplus. That's the opposite of a deficit for those not near a dictionary. When the economy improved under Obama ,the annual deficit amount was reduced every year until his last two budget years. But the combined totals of even those two years (2015 & 2016) is about the same as Trump's for this one single year.At least Obama had the excuse of coming out of the worst recession since the Great Depression.

What's Trump's excuse?

He didn't make the budget. When Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi got done putting in all of their payback special interest items, it was large.

Anyway, they will be able to cash flow out of the deficit in a few years with more volume. There might not be enough left for FREE health care, phones, college, living allowance, and food for everyone that comes to the country.

If after 8 years he doubles the debt from $20 trillion to $40 trillion, we are screwed.

The budget deficit is a big deal only when a DEMOCRAT is in the White House.

More volime of what? This sounds like the guy who makes widgets and loses money on every one he sells but thinks as long as he sells millions of them, he'll be rich.

What do you think I meant with my reply? Although I did not quote him, I was actually quoting davew's reasoning. If you would rather I take his side I will, but it will make me uncomfortable. Fiscal conservative here so I don't like the deficits, debt or hypocrisy where spending is concerned. You can keep your sarcasm to yourself.

A budget tells you how much you can spend. It doesn't tell you that you have to spend it all.

A friend's uncle used to work for the VA as a department head in X Ray and every year, he spend like a drunken sailor, buying stuff he did not need. If he did not spend his total budget, it would be cut for the next year!
