Kentucky Downs Race 3 objection/inquiry

After the race “ inquiry” was iniatially flashed on the tote then just jockeys objection. Anyway 23-1 Baytown Jimbo barreled down the lane ridden by Jack Gilliagan causing multiple domino effect crashes and placings in the race. It was a long objection resulting in ........no change! Great job stewards fixing the outcome. I challenge anyone to find and watch the replay. It was pathetically obvious. Not once but twice .

Yeah, very strange decision by the stewards in my opinion. I'd say at least two horses were cost a better placing by the 10 veering from the 2 path to around the 4 path.

You sure throw around "FIXED" a lot. I'm not quite sure you really understand what all would have to go into the process for it to rise to the level of "FIXED" race. If it was the Stewards who orchestrated everything. All of the riders in the race would have had to be in on it. And ridden their horses to the exact spots at the exact time to manipulate the result. Seems like a stretch to me. Just sayin. Maybe what you're suggesting is the stewards made a decision you disagree with and you feel there should have been a DQ?

It looked to me, that the 2 banged into the 9, and he then went into another lane, and the top two finishers got involved. That is why the jockey on the 2 stopped riding. Also, the inquiry/objection was initially called by the jockey, not the stewards. The stewards saw no reason in the first place to put up the inquiry sign. How often, is a jockey objection held up? If you are lucky, once in a blue moon. When the stewards take the initiative to blink the lights, you know, you are coming down.

Vic, Yes you are right in how I come across with throwing the word “fixed” around. I don’t think the race was actually fixed other then a steward(s) or someone connected to the stewards had a vested interest in keeping that 10 horse up. If you watch the replay there is a major case for that horse to be disqualified. I’ve seen much much less over the years take a horse down. Yes I totally disagree with the stewards decision. Just like Jockeys over the years there are corrupt stewards as well. I know it’s taboo and nobody likes to talk about it but it’s a reality of the game.

It's NOT the reality of the game. The Stewards didn't have a vested interest in the result. Someone connected to the Stewards didn't have a vested interest in the result.

BTW I would have voted to take that horse down. It was VERY surprising to me they didn't light the inquiry sign. I was thinking perhaps with the meeting being only 6 days maybe the TV's, replay angles and or the technology might not be state of the art.

Regardless, IMO there 100% should have been a Stewards Inquiry.
