Donald Trump comes in dead last in his debut ranking. Among Democratic scholars, he’s far and away last. Among independent scholars, he’s second to last. Even among Republican scholars, he’s bottom five. (Read Kevin Drum on where he should rank.)
To add insult to injury, President Obama is now ranked the 8th best president ever.

The sad thing is this will be the high point of his administration.

The article says 170 "political scientists", not hundreds of historians. No historian worth his salt would try to judge a president within his life time. That is too early to tell the long term impact of his administration.

Judging a president in his first year in office is absurd and as meaningless as last month's polls from CNN or NBC. The impact of the changes made in this past year won't be known for decades. Political science is an oxymoron. There is no science involved, it is all reading the tea leaves of current events.

I won't be here to see it, but I'd love to see how real historians judge ObamaCare, Cash for Clunkers, Fast and Furious, DACA and shovel ready jobs 50 years from now.
