great question....

JHS, thoughts ? Anyone else?

Id say go ahead with any odds requirements and we'll see how people feel about it over the weekend.

odds requirements is crap y i seen to many times ML horses of 15-1 an 10-1 go off at 2-1 an 8/5 handicapping contest is about picking winners not odds

I think its a swell idea and would have asked myself except that it really complicates your tracking if you have a lot of entries to go over. Not that it is difficult to double-check, but it is another tedious step and that is when errors tend to pop up. Perfection isn't expected and mistakes are fine, but you just don't want to start something that is going to become a job itself and regret it straight away.

If you want to take it on, I say go for it, but it does create a scenario where you could conceivably just look to play rock solid 4-5 shots with a minimum odds criteria of 8-5 or something and try to grind on the margins by playing high likelihood winners with minimum odds that are probably most often unrealistic. Again, it isn't an exploit or anything, its a legit approach obviously, but I can just see it leading to you spending a lot of time eliminating entries that never got close to the odds requirement and realistically never figured to.

That idea is a toss for me unless the nyra guys are able to specify their odds requirements.

Question #1 ----

The public handicappers post 4 picks each race.

We get to post one $2 Win Wager in a race and may post an alternate in case of a scratch.

So.. The public handicapper gets a chance to have any of the 4 horses WIN and collect ? Or are the top two picks eligible for them also . ?

Question #2 .... is the ROI figured on the total payout of winnings or just on the Profit ?

I feel 11:00 AM posting time is real early for a track that has it's 1st race post time at 1:20 PM EDST

Here is my pick for today 3/31/2017

AQU Race #1 Fielding Gold

Great questions.

1) only their top pick counts
2) only your top pick counts
3)roi is calculated on total wagers and total return on wagers
4) 1100 am is done on purpose because it makes the game fair for the public cappers. They dont know the scratches, only fair the private ones dont know them either.
