Bottom line is Dave Rodman is a better announcer then Peter aiello and there's zero room for debate.....

Original post sums it up in one swing of the bat....

I know you look at yourself as one of the "bearers of truth" around here...but you missed the mark badly in this case.
You read an awful lot into what I posted, which was seemingly quite clear. There is a thread on this board with over 600 posts bitching about announcers, hence the comment about "flogging." Was it necessary for this thread to exist when that one does? Did Peter Aiello, who is as dedicated a racetrack employee as any person in the industry, really need to be run down in yet another new thread?

My 2nd comment had nothing to do with you or the monitoring of your board. If I thought that you censored your board to the benefit of any particular individual(s), I would have said so. A "bearer of truth" would have no issue stating his/her case clearly.

There are a lot of people over the years both here and elsewhere who get things written about them that they don't deserve. Myself included.

Welcome to the internet.

Not that you owe an explanation but a few announcers (myself included) have wondered why the Serling/Thomas thread was locked but the announcer "flogging" threads as nick said continues on and on everytime SRU spots an announcer missing anything.

I recall the debate got heated quickly, but it was clearly posted in the wrong section. I'm interested in discussing 1950s TV as much as the next person, but the comparison of Rod Serling and Danny Thomas should have been moved to off topic rather than locked.

I was born in the 80s so I'm sure there's a joke I'm missing :-)

If an announcer has missed something, it should be pointed out soon.

I don't blast race callers, it seems like a really hard job to me. If the guy is calling a race with 10 or more horses and doesn't make a mistake, that takes real talent in my eyes.

Frank is alternating with Michael Wrona between Golden Gate and Santa Anita while SA picks one of the two as Trevor's successor.
