Agree with this. I have voted on both sides over the years but am more generally a democrat. I think both sides over reach at times and that gets most of the ink these days in our 24 hour news cycles. I find myself ignoring it for the most part. I will however say I like AOC and what she is up to. I think for far too long now the political class in this country has been about everything but running a good government for the people. I think many of us on both sides would agree to this albeit with different bogeymen. We currently have a system where the politicos are being driven by corporate interests over everything else. AOC may turn out to be like the rest of them but for now I think she is a breath of fresh air.

Germany had a candidate who was a breath of fresh air once.

Yeah, that Hindenburg fellow was quite a savvy politician, what with that runaway inflation and general chaos he managed to prolong. Who knew that he'd be remembered in name by an exploding bag of hydrogen?

A breath of fresh air?
Well I laugh so hard at this ding-a-ling my diaphragm does get the oxygen going.
She asked the head of a bank today why his bank wasn't responsible for the X-L Keystone Pipeline spill?
He looked befuddled and told her that
1. the X-L Pipeline wasn't built yet
2. his company wasn't involved in funding it

You can't get all bogged down with the details and facts, it just feels right.

I thought he meant Beethoven.
That Ludwig wrote some real toe-tappers.

They decided to dig up Beethoven's grave and move his body to a new site dedicated to the Masters.
When they removed the coffin from the grave, one of the men slipped and dropped it and it popped open.
They all gasped as they saw old Ludwig van himself sitting up, holding sheet music, and erasing the notes from the papers.
"Hey, close me up!" He yelled at the crowd.
"Can't you see I'm decomposing?"

My perception is that she's a bit too young to have developed the kind of knowledge and analytical ability to make a good Congressperson. She doesn't have connections or the respect of her fellow lawmakers. She might be a lone gun in the House and she has visions of getting the old folks who dominate leadership to move in her philosophical direction. She's energetic and sincerely committed, but she needs experience, allies, and a staff that is bright and doesn't let her flop in committee hearings. My guess is her staff is a mirror image of her. Young, energetic, and doesn't have a enough experience to be totally helpful.
The fact is that she comes from a democratic district that had gotten tired of a guy that was spending too much time trying to be in a position to replace Pelosi. They wanted an activist who cared about them, and she'll be good at that. But she has a long way to go to sound intelligent about foreign policy or budget.
No way to tell how she will mature. Maybe she won't, but you get what you vote for.
