IF the Fablemans' were not about Spielberg, it would be a melodramatic YAWNER...Almost a yawner anyway

ending reminded me a lot of the Umbrellas of Cherborg where the two main love interests run into one another years after they went their separate ways...I cannot help but yelling at the screen: "You stupid fool!

It took me awhile to get comfortable with the ending. They both were in la la land, “Hollywood” until they weren’t. They both achieved their dreams and respected each other, acknowledged with a brief smile and an a very slight bow of the head. They had the best of both worlds at different times.
Very moving.

I'm looking forward to this one...Jan 27 on Netflix...
Great cast...
The weird part is though...Jonah Hill actually looks older than Eddie Murphy...LOL

same group did Babylon .... not as good and more depressing than La La Land as the movie started when the group was on top and went downhill from there.
But since it is big budget and Hollywood based, will probably get some nominations for awards

Banshees is...odd. Not quirky. Not funny. Just...odd. I agree the acting is very good but the story is more sad than anything. It doesn't work as a dark comedy by any stretch. The only reason I watched the entire movie was that I was expecting something more to happen. By comparison, In Bruges is a much better movie with the same director and two lead actors, and qualifies as a dark comedy.
