What do you make of this statement from the assistant DA (see Paulick Report): the plea reduction was “appropriate” because of “some difficulties that may arise at trial in terms of witness statements and certain evidence”?

That's very standard in DV cases. People really don't like having to go through the court process and testify against people they know, and often generally like or even love, and they also don't like reliving the details.

The picture of Chad Brown and the lawyer looks like a great picture to nominate for NTRA moment of The Year

Looks more and more of a painting the longer you look at it

Of course there was a plea taken . Who in their right mind expected a trial in this case? There rarely is ever a trial . People watch TV too much . Unless there’s a really serious offense . The DA wants to clear the books . And why would CB go thru the time and energy of a trial with the chance he gets a worse sentence?
That’s how this game is played about 90% of the time or more. This shit literally happens daily.
Then the opinions here are just frigging hilarious . All the way from he attempted murder. ( where the hell do people come up with that one ) to the girl should be charged . I mean , it’s good for a laugh . But the interesting thing will be to see if NYRA does anything . In other sports this type of thing is highly frowned on now. It doesn’t matter if it’s not “work related “. The outcome in the sports world is usually discipline and a sanction. Will horse racing join the fray?

It kinda did...especially BEFORE the matter was settled, which is what you wanted.
