A strange reversal has occurred in 2020 on Win vs Place betting.
The chart below shows the results of the handicapping program that I posted last year.
'Sheety' is betting $2 on its Pick 1 to Win and Place in every race where the Pick is not scratched.
The chart covers 1/1/19 to date and has always shown Place betting to mirror Win betting but at lower ROI.
Something weird occurred after the Covid-19 halt in Feb-Jun of this year.
Win bet returns fell sharply but Place bet returns plateaued at even money.
It will be interesting to see if this trend continues.
