You must be talking about Trump's financial records which he promised to release as soon Obama produced the birth certificate.

“Well, I've been told very recently, Anderson, that the birth certificate is missing,” Trump said in an interview for “Anderson Cooper 360,” to be aired Monday night. “I’ve been told that it’s not there and it doesn’t exist — and if that’s the case it’s a big problem. I’ve just heard that two days ago from someone — I don’t want to say who.

and

Potential 2012 GOP presidential contender Donald Trump is doubling down on his call for President Barack Obama to produce a birth certificate, saying “facts are emerging” that have raised a “real question” as to whether Obama is constitutionally eligible to serve as president

Now, I'm not an Obama fan, but it seems more like he gave Trump just enough rope, then opened the gallows door. Made Trump seem like a fool for blathering about a non-issue.

Trump is portraying this as a victory, that it took him to get it done, but he just said the other day that he had sources telling him it didn't exist. and what about his investigators who he said had made some "shocking" discoveries? what were those discoveries?

and what about this bombshell book that is coming out soon? Corsi I think is the author's name. He had better have something like a smoking gun or else as it stands he's going to have a lot of egg on his face and not so many book sales.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I haven't seen all the news, so maybe Obama took the trip, but didn't I read in multiple articles that only OBAMA himself could be the one to travel to Hawaii and show up in person to get a copy of his birth certificate? Isn't that what we were told? Isn't that why nobody else, not even the governor himself could release the record?

This is all SO confusing.

Can't wait for Bernanke's press conference in a little bit, if this is what they're using to wag the dog....LOL

So what took him so long ? wasn't he in Hawaii on vacation less than a year ago ? Why did he not lay this issue to rest then ?

Maybe he was waiting for a better version of Photo Shop to come out ?

So Obama now says it's time to "get serious". GET SERIOUS???? It took him two and a half years to get serious about his job? I know for a fact that any of my former employers would have kicked by butt out the door after two and a half WEEKS of not taking my job serious. What a dope!

I would imagine that he waited so long because

a) Even when it's shown people don't believe it (as this thread proves)
b) Birther's make republicans look bad to independent voters.
c) Independent voters decide elections.

I don't know if this makes him look worse to his critics (birthers, curious, etc) since they have plenty of reasons to be critical of him. However, it might make him look worse to the independents who have to wonder why it took so damn long. No check box on the birth certificate for legitimate or illegitmate (some used the word 'bastard'). So I'm at a loss too, except that this, like so many things, shows he takes way too long to make decisions and too long to do the right or sometimes even the obvious thing.
